Required Plugins and Scripts:

• Featured Content Plugin
• Popularity Contest
• TimThumb PHP Script

Installation:

1. Upload tt-scripts folder in your WordPress root folder (this is where your wp-config.php is located).
2. Upload the content-gallery and popularity-contest folders in the /wp-content/plugins directory.
3. Activate Featured Content Gallery and Popularity Contest plugins.
4. Note: For those who are having fatal error issues with the Popularity Contest plugin, download this revised plugin and activate it.

Customizing Featured Content Gallery:

1. Go to Settings > Featured Content Gallery
2. Recommended settings:
   • Gallery Width in Pixels: 572
   • Gallery Height in Pixels: 200
   • Text Overlay Height in Pixels: 80
   • Category Name: featured
   • Number of Items to Display: 3
3. Then Update Options.

Options Page

Customizing Options Page:

1. Go to the General Setting and fill in your:
   • Twitter Username
   • FeedBurner ID
   • Latest News Category Slug (optional)
   • 3 Adsense codes
2. Go to the Custom Advertisement Settings and fill in your:
   • Full banner header codes
   • 4 Square banner header codes

Additional Customization:

• Changing the Logo:
  1. Use the logo.psd found at the /malawak/images folder.
  2. Edit it using your favorite graphics application.
  3. Save as background-sitename.png and upload it at the /wp-content/themes/malawak/images folder.

Custom Fields

• Posting a Featured Content:
  1. Write a post and place it at the “Featured” category.
  2. In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
  3. Key: articleimg
  4. Value: url of the image (with at least width: 572px and height: 200px)
  5. Then click Add Custom Field.
  6. Save or Publish your post.

• Changing the default post thumbnail:
  1. In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
  2. Key: paddimage
  3. Value: url of the image in the uploads folder (i.e. /wp-content/uploads/2008/11/thumbnail.jpg), don’t worry about the size because it will be resize automatically.
  4. Then click Add Custom Field.
  5. Save or Publish your post.
