Required Plugins and Scripts:
- Featured Content Plugin
- Popularity Contest
- TimThumb PHP Script
Installation:
- Upload tt-scripts folder in your WordPress root folder (this is where your wp-config.php is located).
- Upload the content-gallery and popularity-contest folders in the /wp-content/plugins directory.
- Activate Featured Content Gallery and Popularity Contest plugins.
Customizing Featured Content Gallery:
- Go to Settings > Featured Content Gallery
- Recommended settings:
- Gallery Width in Pixels: 606
- Gallery Height in Pixels: 220
- Text Overlay Height in Pixels: 80
- Category Name: featured
- Number of Items to Display: 3
- Then Update Options.
Options Page
Customizing Options Page:
- Go to the General Setting and fill in your:
- Primary Author (optional)
- Twitter Username
- FeedBurner ID
- Category Slug 1
- Category Slug 2
- Category Slug 3
- 3 Adsense codes
- Go to the Custom Advertisement Settings and fill in your:
- Full banner header codes
- 4 Square banner header codes
Additional Customization:
- Changing the About The Author Photo:
- Your Gravatar is the default photo. Get a Gravatar now if you don’t have one.
- Changing the About The Author info:
- At the WP Admin Panel, go to Users > Your Profile > About Yourself > Biographical Info
- Write a brief author information.
- Then Update Profile.
- Changing the Logo:
- Use the logo.psd found at the /mahusay/images folder.
- Edit it using your favorite graphics application.
- Save as background-sitename.gif and upload it at the /wp-content/themes/mahusay/images folder.
Custom Fields
- Posting a Featured Content:
- Write a post and place it at the “Featured” category.
- In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
- Key: articleimg
- Value: url of the image (with at least width: 606px and height: 220px)
- Then click Add Custom Field.
- Save or Publish your post.
- Changing the default post thumbnail:
- In your post, go below the Custom Fields section.
- Key: paddimage
- Value: url of the image in the uploads folder (i.e. /wp-content/uploads/2008/11/thumbnail.png), don’t worry about the size because it will be resized automatically.
- Then click Add Custom Field.
- Save or Publish your post.

hi, i’m having a big problem. i followed all instructions for this template and for magaling but the sidebar isn’t loading. everything shows except for the sidebar and the footer. when i view source i can see that the sidebar and footer coding isn’t there. also in admin when i go to the widgets page and add widgets to the sidebar they are not showing up. when i change to a regular theme everything shows. can someone help me? thanks:)
i figured it out. i had to activate twitter and popularity. geesh. lol.

I can’t seem to access the options page in wp-admin which greatly limits the workability of this theme.

Hey, on some of my posts, I’m receiving an error message, “Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Offset not contained in string in D:\Hosting\2935009\html\blog\wp-content\themes\mahusay\functions.php on line 326″
I’ve done a google search and i’m seeing quite a few others who are having the same issue w/ this very same theme (For example: http://clarklandscaping.biz/)
I’ve checked the functions.php and I’m not seeing any specific issues there’s an if, else and else if – … not sure what else its looking for here.
Update – I decided to run a test on this. I added content to my post. The initial post had very little content, so perhaps that was the issue?
So I tested this theory and typed a bunch of additional information. This seems to have solved the issue. Or atleast applied a bandaid on the issue.
You need to create 3 different categories for your site. Then you go to the Mahusay options (under “Appearance”) and write in the three category names into the “Category Slug” slots.
I used this great Mahusay theme at my blogspot.. And now I have my own wordpress blog.
Your Mahusay theme is one that I dreamed of.

Hi guys, I love this theme, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I followed the instructions and have almost everything setup but I have one problem, everytime I click on the “Mahusay Options” in my WP dashboard I get this message:

I’m a complete newbie to installing themes so I may just be missing something but I was wondering if anyone knew what this means and what I have to do to get to the options page. Thanks in advance for any help! Keep up the awesome themes!
